Ruup & Form: Live Performance - London - September 2024

Works
Overview

Communion was a live MRS ROE performance at Ruup & Form's central London gallery. Artist Kerry Lemon guided her audience through a transformative ritual that reimagined traditions drawn from religion, ancient folklore and herbal medicine. She replaced the familiar sacred elements with a live copper plating of the abortifacient tansy plant, creating a permanent, ritualistic alchemy. This powerful act of gifting went beyond mere preservation; it reflected a profound reverence for safeguarding the wisdom of past generations, infusing it with a sense of sanctity and resilience.

This was the second of four seasonal events and further performances will follow on the 16th November 2024 & 1st February 2025 leading to an exhibition in June 2025.
